does a bank have a legal deadline to send

Does financial institutions have deadlines for 1099's to be mailed out?

Not sure....but...

I think it's the same as w-2s ("postmarked" by 1/31)... but that's just a suspicion...you may want to confirm it with [url]www.irs.gov[/url] --The website is pretty comprehensive and written in plain English instead of CPA-type-gobbletygook...
