What is the name of your state?WA

A donation was made to a not for profit 501C3 and the employee's company has a matching grant program.

After the donation the employee decided that they don't think the 501C3 is worthy. They want the matching grant money to go back to them rather than the not for profit organization?!

What should be the response of the not for profit?

Tell the donee to go fly a kite. But more politely than that. The matching grant was donated by the employer & the employer is the only one that can request a refund. The employer's donation does not get refunded to the employee.
