What is the name of your state? Indiana

I was reading posts on here and saw where someone said that when you are married, and file separate you almost never get more money back. I was wondering what I should do. I was married in March - and then stopped working. I made $8000 last year -- but my husband made $60+ -- should we file separate? Together we would make too much money to qualify for EIC for my 11 year old, is this right? BUT, maybe $8000 is toooo little to make in a year to qualify.

Thanks in advance for any direction you can point me.

Married people who file separately cannot get EIC. Period. The 2 of you will do better to file jointly.
