EscheatWhat is the name of your state? CA I'm posting here because I don't know where else to post. I opened a CD about 10 years ago for my kids...I renewed it about 5 years ago. I received a notice from the bank saying there was no activity and that if I didn't reply by Oct 1, they would escheat it to the state. I stuck the notice on my fridge...and it got covered with my kids' homework and other things... I forgot about it. What do I need to do or worry about? WIll I get the kids' money back? I'm real upset right now...and worried that I won't be able to get it back. It's about $4000, and is part of their college fund. |

| Contact the phone number on the paper you have, or the financial institution where you put the money. They may not have turned it over yet. If they have, you will have to contact the state in which it is located. The financial institution should be able to give you the information you need to reclaim your money. Snipes
