Federal and New York taxes owed

What is the name of your state? New York
I am now disabled due to a heart condition. My only income is SSD and a group disabilty payment. I owe back Federal and NYS income taxes. Can the IRS or NYS ever take any of my SSD or disabilty payments?

Probably.

Contact an Enrolled Agent in your area and get this sorted out. They may very well accept pennies on the dollar for your debt.
