Federal Tax Lien

What is the name of your state?Massachusetts.
I had a federal tax lien filed on me in May 1994. I have been told they expire if not refiled in 10 years. This has not been refiled. The tax lien was filed in Florida where I lived until 2 years ago. Experian removed it from my credit report, but trans union replied saying they could keep it on my credit report indefinately if not paid or discharged depending on the state I llive in.
Anybody know about this?
