I'm in Washington state.

I have a new sole proprietorship business. Do I have to do anything different in terms of filing taxes? Specially, do I continue filing as an individual (1040) or do I have to file some kind of business taxes?

As far as federal tax is concerned, the business is YOU. You file a 1040 and report your income on Schedule C and also fill out Schedule SE. You should be paying estimated tax payments.
