What is the name of your state? VA

Hi,
I hear conflicting evidence on this matter and am hoping for some clarification. Some believe that as a single-member LLC you are entitled to write off indicental food expenses (e.g. you eat lunch or stock your company refrigerator with sodas). I have been told and read this is still taxable. Can someone explain please?

thank you,
mynzai

Zero sum game.

You (acting as employer) give them benefits of a free lunch every day. You write this off as a business expense. However, you (acting as an employee) are getting additional benefits, which should be treated as income. Good luck with your audit.

From the IRS:
Reimbursement for personal expenses.
If your employer reimburses you for nondeductible personal expenses, such as for vacation trips, your employer must report the reimbursement as wage income in box 1 of your Form W-2. You cannot deduct personal expenses.
