What is the name of your state? Illinois

Do foreign exchange students have to pay state and federal taxes? are there any other forms they have to fill out when getting a temporary job in the US?

The have to pay federal & state income taxes unless their income is exempt from tax under a tax treaty. There are some situations where they do not have to pay social security/medicare taxes.
