I did some work for a company last year that reimbursed me for mileage and meals.

I received form 1099-MISC from them and they have included all money paid to me (money earned for the work, mileage, and meals) on the form.

When I do my taxes, should I only claim the amount earned for the work as income? Are there special forms I need to fill out?

You need to report everything on Sch C. You then take the appropriate deductions for mileage and meals. (Appropriate as there are rules as to the amounts you can deduct.)
