What is the name of your state? Texas

My dad supposedly saves his gasoline receipts to include them in his taxes. Can you do that? If you can, how?

Did any of that make any sense?

Well what I'm trying to ask is if I can claim my gasoline receipts on my taxes and get a refund. My dad says he does this, is it true? In what section would you file that under?

Only if he is using his car for business, and is claiming actual expenses vs. straight mileage.

There is also a fuel credit, but that is for marine fuel.

If he has his taxes done professionally, he may be one of those who brings in piles of receipts, only to be told, no, sorry, those are not deductible.

We get a lot of that.
