Georgia Airplane Ad Velorum Tax

I borrowed an airplane for a few months and got taxed $800 on it because it was here on Jan 1st. The owner lives in New Hampshire, do I have to pay the tax on it??

Care to flesh out this a little more.

Exact dates and when it entered the state...

What 'borrowed' means in context of an aeroplane?

The owner (resident or not) owes personal property tax. It would depend on the arragnement on the borrowing. They use January 1 status to give the situs for the year.
