Last year I received a $50,000 inheritance from my late aunts estate. Can I avoid paying tax on this money by giving it as a gift to my wife? Is there another way to avoid the tax? What form(s) would I need to use. I live in California.

There is no tax on inherited cash.

Even so, you can't avoid tax by giving the money away.
