What is the name of your state? CA
Hi, my grandpa recently passed away and unfornutely I was not part of his estate because my mother predeceased him. He requested to many people before he passed that i be taken care of. My aunt wants to give me 30,000 to do this, but we do not know how this will work and need any info. Will we be taxed for this amount? Who will be taxed? Will this be taxed out of the estate or how does this work? Please help!

What your Aunt GIVES you has nothing to do with the Estate. It is a gift from her. Unless she has a large estate herself 1 million plus there will be no taxes. She would pay the tax if there were one.
