Home heating credit

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan
if i file my homeheating credit. can someone else file me on their federal taxes.

The home heating credit has no bearing on what you or anybody else can do with your income tax returns.

On the other hand, certain dependents are barred from claiming the home heating credit. It however appears to be limited to students. Here's the info:
