Hi, i was just wondering how much do you have to make before you have to file for taxes. Last year i made over 10k and i filed it, but this year i've only made 1400$. Do i have to file this also? I just heard something about that you had to make over a certain limit before you have to file your taxes... is it true?

Thanks. :)

From what I was told....

I called H&R Block and also went to Jackson Hewitt and both told me that If you made under $3,000 you were under no obligation to file. This was for a single person. If you are married and the spouse claims you then yes they also have to take that into account for your earnings also. You can file your taxes online for free so I have heard but I KNOW you can go to www.taxact.com. You can just go through the process and see how much you would be able to recieve or you can go ahead and e-file through them and it only cost like $8 per state/federal tax form you send in.
Hope this helps.
