Income tax offsetWv. Last year my income tax refund was taken by the dept of education because of a defaulted student loan. I made the arrangements to pay on it monthly but was told that my income tax refund this year would be taken as well. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I am a single mother who just lost her job yesterday. I really desperately need my refund. Can I file any kind of a hardship thing? Somebody please help advise me what to do! |

| When you get another job, go to your HR office and change your exemptions on your w-4 so they take out less money per pay period. If you don't have a refund, they can't take it. |
