I usually only receive about $4000.00 in income a year so not required to file tax for the last few years. Last year I received a insurance check for a barn that was destoryed by fire, $12000.00. Only received the check have not received a 1099. Is this taxable income. Barn was owned over 20 years so no depreciation left. If so do I file it on the Casualty and theft form.
