What is the name of your state? California

Hi. I am a college student -with no job (no income, I dont work). I am claimed under my parents.

About a week ago, I opened an ING Direct Savings account with $10K (my life savings).

I know that interest will not be high or worthy, but was wondering if I must file the ING Direct 1099 taxes even if I have no income taxes to file?

TIA

A dependent must file a tax return if his/her income exceeds $800 OR his/her earned income +$250, whichever is larger. In no case does the dependent's standard deduction exceed the single person's standard deduction (unless blind or over 65).
