What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?
i live in illinois and i'm a union construction worker. work in this area has been very slow the past 2 years, so i have been forced to go on the road to find employment. i am currently workinf construction in las vegas. i have asked other construction "travellers" about deducting living expenses. they say that they deduct all living expenses when working away from home(travel, rent, food, gas, repairs , ect.) is this ok? they also say they take the allowable per diem for that particular city instead of actual expenses. is this ok.
this is definately temporary employment(a couple of months in any one city at the most) and i am maintaining my home and family in illinois with all the associated costs.
