Living Requirement for $8000 House Credit

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

I've heard several things in regards to the living requirement for the new house credit. Do you HAVE to live there, eat, sleep etc? I'm pretty sure you can't rent it out or sell it within 3 years. What exactly is the requirement, having mail sent there?

The rule is that it must be your primary residence. In other words, it must be your home.
