| I Live in Levittown, Pa. I work in all of five countys. I work as a electricion. My Problum is that the company i work for sits in Upper Dubblin Township that charges a 1% Wage Tax, My township Charges a 1/2% Wage Tax. Then i Work in the city of Phila. Part of the time. At Tax time The Phila. Wage tax of 4 1/2% Clears me of the Tax Due to My Township that i live in. But the Tax i Pad to upper Dubblin is said non refundable. Is Upper Dubblin Tax Legal? That i donot live there or i donot work in the township! Thay claim That My Employer Office is in there township that thay have the right to tax me! Thank You Jim Mickle DakotaJim1 |

Unfair taxI'm sorry to say there was a case in which a person in a similar situation to yours argued that the double tax was unfair. The court ruled that the double tax was legal, so it is lawful for them to tax you. The case is: Fred Hanek v. The Cities of Clairton, et al. Benjamin Lustman v. West Mifflin Borough, et al. Commonwealth Court, Docket Nos. 1051 (1974), 221 (1975), March 16, 1976, 24 PaCmwlth 69 |
