Logging MilesWhat is the name of your state? Michigan I have currently started working for a company with in the past year and a half. I work as a consultant in a school district. I do a lot of driving every day to and from work and then all around the district. A buddy of mine told me I can log my work miles(very Carefully) and use them as a tax write off at the end of the year. Is there any truth to this? I dont get paid for these miles from my company. It's seems like it is taking a lot out of my paycheck every month. Thanks in advance for you help. |

| Yes, some of your miles will be deductible. I wrote a fairly involved explanation of this sometime in the past week. Search previous posts in this forum, you should find it easily. The main point is that mileage from a job to home is not deductible. You can only deduct the distance between two work locations. Snipes
