| i am a resident of oregon and my divorce was final july 2000. the divorce decree stated he was to give me spousal support for 15 years at $1,000 a month whether I remarried or not. well, i did remarry and he took me to court and asked to stop the monthly support. we settled and i got a lump sum payoff of $11,000. this payoff is a settlement...is it taxable? |

Spousal support settlementThe payment is taxable as alimony or spousal support. A settlement is treated the same way as the periodic payments are treated. |
