What is the name of your state? OH/NC
The state of OH insist I owe sales tax from a business that folded. I have provided information and answered their letters, but they keep sending notices and increasing the amount due to unbelievable amounts. I do not owe them anything. The refuse to listen, I think my replies go in the trash or something. Can they file liens or do anything to me since I have moved to NC?
I am not trying to get out of a debt and (business folded) can't afford an attorney right now. Thanks.

Find the money to hire an Enrolled Agent. If not, it sounds lilke you'll be sorry later.

An EA won't cost nearly as much as an attorney.

EAs

After researching EAs I've found they are part of a federal tax (IRS) program that has nothing to do with tax at a state level. Thanks.
