What is the name of your state?
Texas/Pennsylvania

We moved to TX from PA in May. We left some antique furniture in PA to be re-finished. They started work on it in Sept and have just finished it. We were charged a 6% sales tax ($234) on the work.

I know if you buy a product from out-of-state you don't have to pay that state's sales tax. Does that apply to services also? The company thought that since the work was done in PA I have to pay PA taxes.

It's no big deal to pay them if they are owed. I just don't want to pay for something that's not owed.

Thanks
