I live in Kentucky, and have been paying for 3 almost 4 years ----back taxes that were owed from 2001. I can not afford to pay a lot each month so never seem to get anywhere with the tax payoff. Last year I had a big tax refund coming to me but it was automatically deferred to these back taxes. Is there anyway to keep any refund from being deferred again to the back taxes? I sure could use that money to pay other bills where I do not have a monthly payment agreement.
Thanks---Jan

Nope.

But if you reduce your withholding so you don't have much refund, there is less for them to take.
