| You are doing what the IRA and Roth IRA were designed for. There is no gain or loss on your transactions in the IRA or Roth IRA—that is their tax advantage. You will have to pay tax on distributions you take from your IRA, when you take them. Your wife will have no tax on distributions from the Roth IRA |
