    Property Tax, Federal and Couny

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas, Fort Bend.
Our Mother has a piece of property that we are looking to reside in, this is a second piece of property for her. It is not her homestead.

1st - taxes, how can we, if we are paying the entire mortgage, write the interest we are paying off against our taxes?

Also, how can we homestead it if we are the resident, and payer of the mortgage.

You can't do either, unless you buy it from her.
