Question about 501(C)3

What is the name of your state? Texas

Anbody has an idea how much it would cost for IRS 501(C)3 in Texas. Anyone used attorneys and what is teh estimate of the cost including the application fees and attorney fees.Thank you.

Do you have an entity (corporation, foundation) already?
What is the nature of the charitable entity?

The filing fee in Texas for a non-profit corporation is $25.

How much a lawyer would have to do to get to that point, and submit
for federal approval (if required) depends a lot on what you have and what
you are intending to do.

Some organizations only need a federal form 1023 filed. Others will need an exemption determination. If you need a federal determination it could run $300-900 to file.

Throw in a $1000 for legal preparation for a ballpark.

Yes, it's a church and our pastor has asked us to ask around on how to do the registration and also file for 501(C)3. Thanks
