What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ohio

sir: i quit claimed my home over to my daughter and s/in/law in exchange for upkeep of the home. i hold the mortgage, but they have been deducting the taxes i have paiid. is this legal?

No. They can't deduct them and neither can you. In order for to deduct the taxes you must both PAY them and be OBLIGATED to pay them. Neither one of you meets both requirements from your description.
