What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? georgia
I am 72 so when I was awarded a settlement in a med-mal case it had no money for lost wages. The total amount was for pain and suffering so do I have to report this on my income taxes. I paid off medicare.

Pain and suffering is not taxable.
