What is the name of your state?

New Jersey

I have received a sales tax defficiency notice on a restaurant I owned for the years 1984 and 1985 for the amount of $750,000 (disputed amount is around $10,000). The returns were filed but they are claiming I did not pay it all. This is the first notice I have received in 20 years. My accountant at that time said they were filed and paid but he nor my attorney have records going back that far. Isn't there a statute of limitations on this? Even the IRS has 10 years.
