Exclamation Sell Of Real Estate - Commission Outside Of Escrow - Tax Deductable?

What is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA

I PAY MY BROTHER-IN-LAW COMMISSION FOR HELPING TO SELL MY HOUSE. WE PAY HIM CASH OUTSIDE OF ESCROW. WOULD THAT CONSIDER TAX DEDUCTABLE?

    THANKS

it could be depending on how it is handled. if it is pay for a job then it is income for him and an expense for you. usually these are handled via a 1099.
