signed 8332 but claimed child anywayWhat is the name of your state? Michigan My boyfriend has an 11 year old daughter that he has been claiming as a dependent for all previous years due to her mother signing an 8332 form giving him the right to claim her for ALL future years although she lives with her mom. However, this year the mother has claimed the daughter, resulting in an additional $600 in taxes due for my boyfriend. Is there anything he can do, since he has the signed form saying HE can claim her? His return won't go through electronically. :/ |

| He'll have to file on paper, include a copy of the signed 8332, and a statement to the effect that the child was claimed anyway, and wait patiently for his refund. He'll get it, but it will take a while. Snipes
