Social security

What is the name of your state? New York

I know that if the husband dies and leaves behind a wife and small children the children and possibly the wife can get social security benefits. Is it true if the reverse happens where the wife dies will the children and possibly the husband get social security benefits.

yes. they're called survivor benefits.
