Social Security Benefits and FilingWhat is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA My daughter (who I have custody of and am claiming on my tax return) received 2002 Social Security Benefits via my ex-wife. SSA deposits the monthly benefits to my bank account. The SSA-1099 form I received for these payments had my daughter's SSN for the Beneficiary (Box 2). Box 6 does not have Fed Income Tax Withheld. Do I need to include these benefits received on my fed tax return? |

| No, they would go on your daughter's tax return.
