What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

Last year I decided to start my own business selling my art. I have no employees and I just work out of my apartment. My question is about filing my taxes for 2015. I didn't make enough money last year to be taxed on it (made less than $500) but with buying supplies and equipment I do have a lot of start up costs that I was wondering how I can deduct these from my taxes if I can?. I didn't register my business with the Federal or State. I usually file my taxes online but I don't really know enough about it to know what product to use and how to deduct these costs. What would my best course of action be? I keep reading differing things on the tax code for this...
