State tax garnishmentWhat is the name of your state? South Carolina My question is: What must the South Carolina Department of Revenue do to properly and legally garnish state income taxes from the pay of an individual in a tax dispute with the state? Is it necessary for the Dept. of Rev. to obtain a court order? Should the individual be notified prior to any garnishment and have an opportunity to appeal the Dept. of Rev. decision to order the employer to garnish wages? |
