State Tax Lien

12 years ago the state of Pennsylvania filed a lien against me for unpaid sales tax as a result of a failed business. The business was a sub chapter S corp. Todate I have not heard from them on this. Since they have not pusued payment of the lien, do I still owe it? Is there any type of statute of limitations that would prevent them from collecting it. I'm in a position to make arrangements to pay but want to make sure I still owe it.

i am sure

that the state won't let you forget. they may have put you on the back burner, but they will stir your pot one day.

almost as bad as the IRS, they don't forget or forgive....and want their money.
this will follow you in your credit until you get a release.

so , go ahead and get it over with, call your state comptrollelr and make payment arrangements.

do this before they hunt you down and hog tie you, maybe, just maybe, they will give you credit for having b_lls (or t_ts) and be reasonable and will work with you.

good luck, and do it now.

Don't be hastey on this! There may be a statute of limitations on their collection of tax in your situation. If there is a substantial amount due, I suggest you see a Pennsylvania tax specialist to find out.
