What is the name of your state? Debt while living in Michigan. I now live in Florida.
I have a federal tax lien from 1992 of $12,000.
I called to see if I could start making payments and they told me that they had to check with management to approve. ($400 a month)
They also told me that on June 6, 2006 it will be 10 years since the debt was last posted.
The IRS agent told me that the tax lien will be deleted on this date and the debt will be gone.
Is this true?
I want to buy a house and get out of this mess...
