Tax Break????What is the name of your state? California Ok..here is the deal. By the end of the year my husband and I would had made around $63k combined gross income. We have two dependants:my 14 month old son and my father in law. I was using some online tax calculator tool, to try to see where I would "sorta" be when it came time to file our taxes. After all that mess it turns out we will owe around $500 (approx). Geez... The thing is...that we have paid around $9,000 in taxes this year (s.s., state , local, ....and fed taxes deducted from our salaries). My husband and I have over $10k in cc debt, and only about $1500 to our name. Is there some type of way ...that you can get "away" from paying these taxes? I mean...it's not like we didn't pay taxes already...plus we need to pay off these debts as well. My sister told me that if you can prove that you have spent most of that money...you can get your tax liability decreased. Is that true? What a rip off...hehe. Please advise. ![]() |

| Why are you complaining? You got the US gov't to give you an interest-free loan until 4/15. An no, 'I already spent my money' is not an excuse the IRS will accept for you not paying your taxes.

| You can't get the taxes decreased, but you probably can work out payment terms. To do so, file Form 9465 Installment Agreement Request, which can be downloaded at www.irs.gov. |
