Small business has a cafeteria plan. Pays employees x amount per day for meals. Employees told because they have a cafeteria plan the meals per day are not taxed. My question is, can this be done on a cafetria plan?

If the company is providing the meals for the convenience of itself, the employer, then the meals are not taxable income to the employees. However if it is not for the convenience of the employer, its a taxable fringe benefit.
