This is a Connecticut case.

My wife and started living apart in October 2003.
She took the kids with her.

In May 2004, we got a legal separation under Connecticut law.

For 2003, I understand that we are still able to file jointly.
For 2004, what options are available for filing status?

Is one of us single and the other a head of household?
or, are we still considered married for federal income tax purposes.

Please advise ASAP.

Thanks.
