Tax Lien on girlfriends propertyWhat is the name of your state?CA. Here's a good one. I received a certified letter today from the IRS, notifying me that a tax lien has been placed on my residence. However, I do not own the property, it belongs to my girlfriend (she carries full title and loan). How can the IRS do this?? |

| Does the lien have the legal description of your friend's property? The IRS checks public records so there is something out there that connects you with the land. |

GF Lien updateThank you Seniorjudge for the reply. In a further review of the letter, it does not appear to have a specific lien address, rather stating that the lien is in place against "current and future properties or assets". We have checked the 'title' and it clearly states ownership to my GF as a single woman. Thanks again! |
