Is there a way that when I file my 2006 taxes I can specify the time periods where I lived in one state and when I moved so I can recouperate those deducted moneys?
Any recommendations, comments are appreciated. |
Your employer is handling this completely wrong. All they have to do is apply for a employer tax ID number for Washington. That takes very little time. You are going to need to insist that your employer correct your withholding to reflect the correct state of employment. However, yes, you can specify on your returns where you lived, and for what time period, as well as divide your income to reflect the same. However, it will be a whole lot less complicated if you push your employer to correct the problem.
