    Theft Loss Carryforward

    USA and California

In 2007 I had a theft loss in excess of my AGI. I would like to use this excess deduction on my 2008 taxes. Can I use this excess loss on my 2008 taxes? If I can, what IRS form do I use to report this loss carryforward? Do I simply report it as prior year excess loss on my schedule A?

Thanks in advance for any help offered here.

It's an NOL. Look at Section 172(d)(4)(C)
