My mother has received advanced premium tax credit.

In any circumstances she might have to repay the credit she received under care....what is the cap? is it $600?

The cap calculation is a little more complex than that. For some people the cap will be 600.00. For others, it will be different. However yes, if someone's credit ends up being different than the advance amount that they received, they will either owe money back, or will receive an additional refund.
