Hi, I am a student on F-1 status in California since 2002 working on campus part time. I have been filing my state (form 540)and federal returns (1040NR)regularly until someone informed me that I should have been filing form 8843 too. Though I am going to do that from this year onwards, can I file that form for the previous years now? I would greatly appreciate it if someone can advise me on this because I have a hard time understanding US tax laws.
