Can I list unemployment benefits as a negative on my tax return? Several years ago I collected unemployment benefits. In 2004, I received a letter stating that I was overpaid and to begin repaying back the funds. On a monthly basis, I have paying $175 and will continue to do so until it's totally repaid.
